Here, Jackson works underwater in scuba gear on an exotic pool in south Fort Myers.  Chris Jackson has a slow, methodical process for finding the slightest drip amid the deluge.
Jackson owns Leak Medic, one of just a handful of local businesses that specialize in finding tiny breaches in swimming pools around Southwest Florida. It’s often squint-eyed, careful work, but Jackson says some days he can just check the temperature and save some time.
“There is a direct correlation with the water temperature and where I will find the leak,” Jackson said. “If it is cold outside and the water is cold, I know that leak is going to be at the bottom of the pool. Jackson, 33, is a full-time firefighter on Sanibel. Like most area firefighters, he works 24-hour shifts, followed by 48 hours off. Jackson owned a pool service business, but began to specialize in finding leaks three years ago after helping a regular customer fix a problem in her pool.
